WEST SALEM, WI (Wednesday, September 1, 2010) - The four days that will make up the 41st Annual Oktoberfest Race Weekend will be busy as Fest officials have announced that 20 different divisions will be competing this year. One of those divisions is a new event in honor of the late John McKarns.
The JMCK 63 will take place on Sunday, October 10th. The event will use Big-8 Series style rules and its an invitational featuring past Big-8 Series winners. The 63-lap event will run in three 21-lap segments, just like the Dick Trickle 99 event. A format that McKarns loved when he introduced it to Oktoberfest in 2007. The only difference is that the first segment will be lined up by a draw rather than qualifying. The second and third segments will be lined up using the same format as the Dick Trickle 99. The second segment will line up with a field inversion and the third with a wheel spin or dice roll.
